The University
of Central Oklahoma has fourteen (14) professional academic advisors to
assist current students in their major course of study. Some of
the many services available to students include:
- Helping students define educational goals;
- Referring students to appropriate institutional services and
resources beyond the scope of the advisor;
- Ensuring students are aware of the rules and regulations
pertaining to their program of study;
- Evaluating student's progress towards degree completion on a
regular basis; and
- Serving as a resource to assist students in the successful
completion of their academic degree plan.
In addition to the professional academic advisors on campus, many
programs of study have program coordinators located within their
respective departments to assist students in selecting courses, planning
internships, and various other departmental specific issues.
We recommend each student meet with his/her professional
academic advisor at least once a year. Of course, we
encourage you to come in as often as you need. |
